The Best Foldable Phones

In the past, Wirecutter hasn’t recommended foldable phones due to concerns regarding their durability and price.

But that has changed.

Foldable phones are still expensive compared with other smartphones, and there are some factors to consider before you replace your standard smartphone with a foldable, such as whether you’ll really use dual screens, if you’ll actually benefit from multitasking capabilities, and whether you’re truly willing to foot the bill for any accidental damage.

But if you want one, know that foldables released in the past two years are reliable and useful enough for many people. The best one, the Galaxy Z Fold8, is made by Samsung, but if you’re feeling nostalgic, Motorola’s Razr is another excellent choice.
