Times have changed. These days the best gaming monitor you can buy is the Dell Alienware AW2725D, which offers the latest 240 Hz OLED display for half the price of similar models just two years ago. A less expensive gaming monitor with similar performance is the Dell AW2725DM, which has the same 27-inch size and 1440p resolution as our top pick but without the OLED display.

Our top pick already feels like an upgrade, but for a bit more money, the MSI MPG 271QRX provides a blistering 360 Hz refresh rate and a USB-C port so you can work and game on the same monitor. If you’re looking for a higher-resolution, 4K display, the KTC M27P6 offers the best blend of motion clarity, features, and price.
