These Hair Brushes Claim to Define Curls. We Put Them to the Test.

After 15 years of frying my hair with flat irons and blowouts, I’ve finally come around to embracing my naturally wavy curls. The result has been both empowering and liberating. The process, however, has been anything but.

The hunt for more-defined, voluminous hair led me down a confusing and overwhelming rabbit hole, where I eventually landed on Bounce Curl Edgelift brushes.

These brushes are intended to separate the hair into even-sized groups of strands, resulting in a repeatable, flush curl pattern. The Volume brush creates smaller curls, and it’s meant to boost volume. The Define brush creates larger curls, and it’s meant to give curls definition without added volume. They both work essentially the same, and you need only one of them, depending on your styling goals.
