I Miss New York. The Gift of Diner Coffee Kitsch Brings Me Back.

There are few life choices as unoriginal as making the move from New York City to Los Angeles. I was aware of this, but awareness didn’t change the fact that when I made the move in my early 30s, it felt monumental.
I had lived my whole life prior on the East Coast and had recently gotten my first tattoo; clearly, I was trying to approach my life differently, with a bit more gumption, than I felt I had before. What that meant, I wasn’t entirely sure, which is probably why I had reached for such obvious clichés.
