The Best Hand Mixer

Mixing by hand can be a bit of a chore, leaving your arm sore and your meringue melty. A good hand mixer gives you the extra power you need to whip up your favorite frosting or a decadent cookie dough without breaking a sweat.

We tested 11 models by mixing up whipped cream, genoise cake batter, chunky cookie dough, and springy pizza dough. Our favorite hand mixer is the KitchenAid 7-Speed Hand Mixer, which worked through each test quickly, efficiently, and much more quietly than other hand mixers we tested.

If you’re a parent of a child under 10, you’ve probably heard of The Nugget, the beloved play sofa that launched a thousand (well, at least 20) competitors.
