I’ve Installed 25+ Bidets in My Home. Here Are My Tips for Doing It Right.

Does the phrase “plumbing project” bring to mind spraying water, puddles in the living room, and large stains on first-floor ceilings? If it does, we get it. But trust us: You can install a bidet toilet seat by yourself. It’s a straightforward process that requires just a few tools and about an hour of your time.
As Wirecutter’s number one bidet tester (or is it number two?) I’ve rotated at least 25 of them through my home, and I can say that while I have found some variations between models, the installation basics are consistent.
We’re going to walk through the installation of a warm-water bidet, which in my experience has been the most complicated type to put into place. The purpose here is to give you a sense of the process and offer some helpful tips, but you should always refer to the bidet’s instructions for specifics.
