One Bed, Two Blankets: How My Husband and I Stopped Fighting Over the Covers at Night

My husband and I perfected the art of co-sleeping when we ditched our contentiously shared duvet and started sleeping with our own blankets at night instead.

We didn’t know it at the time, but we had adopted the Scandinavian sleeping method—a practice popular in, well, Scandinavian and northern European countries (and on social media in recent years) where couples share a bed but sleep under separate duvets. 

What we did know was that we were finally sleeping comfortably after years of fighting, both literally and figuratively, over the covers.
